JASCO welcomes Chris L’Amie to UK Division as Head of Defence – UK and Europe
/January 2026 – JASCO Applied Sciences (UK) Ltd. welcomes new UK and European Head of Defence, Chris L’Amie.
Chris L’Amie brings more than 25 years of operational expertise in the maritime domain, with a career spanning global defence operations, critical infrastructure protection, and strategic planning. A former Commanding Officer of a Royal Navy Frigate, he specialized in underwater warfare and combines frontline operational experience with senior-level strategic insight.
Throughout his career, Chris has operated extensively in the Mediterranean, North Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Northern Ireland, the Baltic and the North Atlantic. His operational experience includes counter smuggling missions, embargo enforcement, maritime security operations, and advanced anti-submarine warfare. He has significant experience in the Baltic, Arctic and High North, where he has commanded forces both afloat and ashore, contributing to major UK, NATO and Joint Expeditionary Force activities.
Prior to joining JASCO, Chris held strategic roles shaping future maritime operations and capability development. He was responsible for coordinating theatre level anti-submarine warfare, maritime homeland defence, and counterterrorism operations. In his most recent Naval appointment, he supported senior defence leaders through a period of rapid technological, geopolitical, and operational change, providing trusted counsel on security posture, capability development, and organizational resilience.
Chris has maintained a career-long focus on the strategic, environmental, and security implications of the High North. His broader professional interests include maritime innovation, AI enabled situational awareness, and the protection of critical underwater infrastructure.
He holds a M.A in Defence Studies from King’s College London and a B.A (Hons) in Politics from Liverpool John Moores University, along with various advanced leadership and management qualifications.
In his role at JASCO, Chris will draw upon this depth of operational experience to support the development of advanced maritime capabilities and contribute to the protection and resilience of critical marine systems. He remains driven by a deep commitment to the maritime environment and to advancing innovative, mission focused solutions in partnership with civilian and military stakeholders.
