Contract Manager
About the Role
JASCO is seeking a Contract Manager in our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia facility. A Contract Manager oversees the creation, negotiation, execution, and management of contracts and proposals throughout their lifecycle. They ensure agreements are legally sound, financially viable, and aligned with organizational goals. This role acts as a bridge between internal teams, vendors, and clients to minimize risk and maximize value. They provide advice to Project / Proposal Managers and project teams on contract management and compliance matters.

As a Contract Manager, you’ll be responsible to:
Support Bid and Proposal efforts ensuring correct rates and applicable clauses are identified and included
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements (subcontracts, service contracts, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, procurement contracts)
Ensure contract terms comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards
Maintain accurate records of all contracts, amendments, renewals, and expirations
Monitor contract performance and compliance with agreed terms
Manage contract lifecycle processes, including approvals, renewals, and closeouts
Identify potential risks in contract language and propose mitigation strategies
Ensure contracts protect JASCO’s interests and limit exposure
Work closely with finance and operations
Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries
Support internal teams in interpreting contract terms and obligations
Develop and implement contract management policies, templates, procedures, and best practices
Other duties as assigned.
The right candidate will also take an active role in JASCO’s Security Department as the A/CSO focusing on contract security requirements
What We’re Looking For
A recognized degree in business administration, commerce, or law or minimum 10 years’ experience working in contract management
Experience in understanding financial business case, commercial risk management and contractual negotiation
Experience in contract management, procurement, legal operations, or vendor management
Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
High level of capability with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Experience in understanding payment terms, tax laws, and general accounts receivable processes
Excellent communication skills in English (oral, writing, reading, and comprehension)
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team, be proactive, take direction and desire to learn
Adaptable to change while balancing multiple priorities, think critically and proactively communicate
High attention to detail and quality orientated

Project Accountant
About the Role
The Project Accountant is responsible for end to end project financial management with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable. This role involves preparing and issuing accurate and timely customer invoices, processing and applying payments, maintaining precise financial records, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding amounts. The Project Accountant also supports monthly project accounting activities—including work‑in‑progress (WIP) and deferred revenue—and provides ongoing financial reporting and analysis for project managers and senior leadership.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining healthy cash flow, supporting customer relationships, and contributing to effective financial oversight across the organization.

As a Project Accountant, you’ll be responsible to:
Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on time
Process incoming payments
Apply payments to customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies
Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts
Manage receivable insurance, including required reporting
Communicate with customers regarding billing issues and payment arrangements
Perform account reconciliations and resolve account variances
Prepare AR reports for stakeholders
Prepare project financial reports for stakeholders
Assist with month-end closing procedures
Maintain organized and accurate financial records
Support audits and provide documentation as needed

What We’re Looking For
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
5-7 years of accounts receivable and accounting experience
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
Experience in understanding payment terms, tax laws, and general accounts receivable processes
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), with minimum intermediate Excel skills
Detail oriented with accuracy and strong organizational and time management abilities
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills in English (oral, writing, reading, and comprehension)
