Dr. Marco Huisman joins JASCO Applied Sciences (Europe)’s Netherlands team

September 2026 – JASCO Applied Sciences (Europe) GmbH has welcomed Dr. Marco Huisman to the company’s Netherlands team, headquartered in its Rotterdam office.

Marco brings more than 30 years of international experience in offshore engineering and underwater acoustics. His expertise spans underwater noise modelling and mitigation, offshore wind development, geotechnical engineering, and environmental permitting.

He joins JASCO from JERA Nex bp, where he led technical work on underwater sound and marine life across offshore wind developments. He previously worked at TNO, the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research, contributing to research and development in offshore renewable energy and low-carbon technologies, and earlier held senior technical roles at Heerema Marine Contractors and Bluewater Energy Services, where he specialized in “silent foundation” concepts and noise mitigation strategies for offshore pile driving.

Marco holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Geosciences from Delft University of Technology. He received the Institution of Civil Engineers’ 2024 Telford Gold Medal for an award-winning publication on offshore energy foundation installation.

At JASCO, Marco will provide technical leadership and help advance the company’s services in underwater noise modelling and environmental impact assessment. He will support JASCO’s work in offshore wind, marine infrastructure, and environmental advisory services while contributing to innovative solutions in marine environmental acoustics.
