JASCO Applied Sciences and Blue Ocean Monitoring announce strategic partnership

JASCO Applied Sciences (JASCO) and Blue Ocean Monitoring (BOM) have entered a global strategic partnership.

This partnership combines JASCO’s understanding of underwater acoustics, and their OceanObserver™ high-performance passive acoustic data acquisition and processing system capable of on-board, in-situ signal processing, with BOM’s cutting-edge expertise developing and operating uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs).

BOM has had strong engagements with the Royal Navy and the Royal Australian Navy having completed multi-glider, multi-week deployments to gather hydrographic and oceanographic data to meet naval requirements.

JASCO has a strong working relationship with the Royal Canadian Navy having supported naval training exercises by providing ambient noise and sound speed measurements, while performing marine mammal mitigation using OceanObserver™, integrated on a variety of uncrewed underwater and surface vehicles (USVs).

Combining the two companies’ technology and services under one banner allows JASCO and BOM to offer seamless services to defence, offshore energy, and research customers alike – and position the pair for even faster growth.

The partnership will provide defense customers with UUV and USV based systems in support of anti-submarine warfare (ASW), maritime domain awareness (MDA), rapid environmental assessment (REA), military data gathering (MDG) and marine mammal monitoring (MMM).

About Blue Ocean Monitoring

Blue Ocean Monitoring specializes in the design, development and commercialization of autonomous subsea data collection and survey systems. We work with global partners to maximize tactical advantage, minimize risk, increase efficiency and reduce environmental impact using cutting-edge autonomous technology. The solutions we have developed, enabled by autonomous underwater vehicles, matched with our innovative control systems meet industry needs for low cost, low impact, and persistent deployment of marine data collection systems. We are working towards driving data collection costs down with the added benefit of near real-time data delivery, through a fleet of enhanced autonomous underwater vehicles.
