Karen joined JASCO Research after spending
three years employed as a contractor for Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO)
and the Centre for Offshore Oil and Gas Environmental Research (COOGER) at the Bedford
Institute of Oceanography. As a research assistant at COOGER, she conducted literature
searches and edited scientific documents relating to underwater noise and its impacts
on marine mammals, sea turtles, fish and invertebrates. In addition to providing
research support, Karen was responsible for the design and layout of newsletters,
presentations, trade show displays and scientific posters.
