- Mikhail has been an acoustician since
1998 and he specializes in acoustic modeling and acoustic measurements. He has been
involved in several acoustic monitoring studies designed to assess the noise levels
from seismic operations and offshore oil developments. This involved serving as
an acoustic team member as well as a team leader during vessel-based surveys in
the Alaskan Beaufort Sea, Chukchi Sea and in Gulf of Thailand. Another aspect of
this work involved acoustic modeling and acoustic data analysis. Having a broad
geological background, Mikhail is experienced in combining data from different sources
to create geological models of the upper sediments used in the acoustic modeling.
His regular duties involve the whole modeling cycle: compiling geoacoustic model
and other auxiliary data, acoustic modeling, modeling results analysis, creation
of maps and schemes, report writing. Mikhail has been a co-author and main author
of several modeling reports of JASCO projects.
