- After graduating from Camosun College in mid-1994, Jason went on to pursue a career in investment banking with HSBC PLC which continued until 1998, where he then decided to change careers and move into IT. He then attended CDI College in Victoria graduating at the top of his class in 2000. He then began his career with IBM Netherlands in October 2000 on a four year contract which saw him hold various positions, primarily in a Team Lead role, working on many different projects for some of the largest companies in Europe such as Mitsubishi and KLM. After four years in The Netherlands Jason came back to work for Newheights Software as Team Leader where he designed and deployed their new data centre, including a complete upgrade to their Microsoft Domain infrastructure. After Newheights Software was acquired by CounterPath Corporation, Jason was promoted to IT Manager and oversaw all IT operations for seven global office locations.
In 2008, Jason then went on to work for the Greater Victoria School Board with an employee base of 3100 employees. Functioning as the key Systems Engineer, Jason went on to rebuild several key environments, convert their physical data centre to a virtual environment, design and create a DR site solution and upgraded their data storage infrastructure.
Since his start with JASCO, Jason has successfully moved the IT infrastructure over to a virtual architecture using both new server and storage technologies. He has also accomplished the redesign and deployment of the JASCO network architectures and data centres for both Canadian offices while also connecting all global locations into a single network fabric. He has developed the IT department from the ground up and implemented many new technologies that include storage, central management and corporate communications.
